 Sue Arnulphy - President

 

Sue has been 10 years in Phuket and a member of the club for 8 of those years.

 

She is British and is retired here with her husband after 30 years in Hong Kong.

 

The club has helped her to get to know people on the island and she has enjoyed being involved with all its activities and especially appreciates having the chance to help.

 

Hobbies include golf (not very good) and sailing.

Wipa Tanmanatragul - Vice-President and Treasurer  

Wipa has been a member since 1994

As a young girl, WIPA was able to get a scholarship, from an open scholarship foundation formed after the Vietnam war, and studied at a High School in the USA.  She managed to get another scholarship from the Rotary Club to do nursing training in Australia for 4 years.  She came back to Thailand and married 20 years ago, and had a daughter. Once her daughter was educated, she decided to join the PIWC, and help the needy children receive their education in a similar manner.

Scholarships

 Carol Fryer - Scholarships     

Carol Fryer came to Phuket 13 years ago, with a background of finance and investments, plus being a qualified accountant. She has been a member of the PIWC for 10 years, and secretary for the last 5 years. She has been actively involved in fund raising events, such as the annual Gala Balls and sports days.

In this current year she chairs the Scholarship committee, involving all aspects of the PIWC –social, fundraising and student scholarships.

From Australia Margaret has been a member of PIWC for almost 6 years and a committee member for most of that time. Her club interest now is in Scholarships and Membership of which she is the current coordinator.

Carole Dux - Organizer monthly Lunches

 An Australian who has lived abroad for 22 years, Carole and her husband retired to Phuket three and a half years ago from England, she has been involved with the PIWC for the last three years. 
 
Having five children she appreciates the importance of education and enjoys seeing the scholarship students flourish.
Hobbies include playing golf, looking after her six dogs and drinking the occasional glass of wine with friends. In her spare time she also helps organize the monthly lunch and annual Gala Ball.

 Maggy is one of the few Luxembourgeois in Thailand. She came here 6 years ago after having lived in different European countries and in Singapore. Maggy and her husband Robert decided to retire in Phuket, however the retirement did not last long as they now own a well known Wine boutique in Laguna area.


She loves to be involved in charity work for the first time in her Life thanks to PIWC.


Her Hobbies are Golf, Pilates , Traveling and she enjoys having an endless amount of international Friends in Phuket.

Consultant Webmaster      

Jackie is from the UK and moved to Phuket 3 years ago. She works as an ITConsultant and in her spare time likes to play golf.

She joined the PIWC to meet people andbecome involved  in local activities.  

 

                              

 

  Anita Whooley - PR and Newsletter

Anita is Irish - a minority grouping in PIWC - and a journalist. She joined the club 6 years ago when she found it on the website. Immediately after her life in Phuket changed, from the isolation she had previously felt, to one of friendship, activities - Mah Jong and Aquacize among them - and involvement in the charity. Her particular interests in the club are PR, the monthly newsletter and the annual gala ball - Phuket's social event of the year - which also raises a lot of money for the charity

Public relations

 

 Barbara Wiley

From the United States, Barbara and her husbandrelocated to Phuket for her husband's work in July 2008. 

She joined the PIWC a year ago as an opportunity to meet other women on the island and feels that this was a very good decision. 

Barbara still works as a Travel Consultant through her office in the United States and enjoys traveling,reading, and the fun activities of the PIWC with her new friends.
