e-newsletter - March 2012
Dear Members,
Hard to believe it has been four months that I have not written a PIWC newsletter. Perhaps there is change in the air? Of course there is change. That is a constant. And here we are already in the month of March. You all know what that means right? It's time to change our leadership within our little community of fabulous women who rock in PIWC! We have to say good bye to our President Wipa who has done a marvellous job in the last two years. Hasn't she? Of course she will still be a productive member, but she became President with the understanding that she would hold court for two years. And she did! We tip our hats to you Wipa!!!.
OUR STUDENTS
Just a brief report on our students as everything is running smoothly at this moment. We have had reports from our nursing students that they are all content learning and are getting good grades. We have our first graduate doctor Thirawat who is now working at Vachira Hospital. This is a proud moment for the Education Committee of PIWC.
ACTIVIITIES LAST MONTH
Last month's lunch was held at Cudos. There were no complaints. Good on you Cudos! It was well attended with laughter bouncing off the walls! Of course this is a given when many ladies are in the same room. Isn't it?
Last month sixteen members had a wonderful and successful Thai cooking lesson at Tawai in Cherngtalay. Thanks to Khun Noi once again for being a great hostess!
Maria hosted our coffee morning this month with a difference. A nice change - she made some delicious raw food treats which had me reaching for seconds. Surely some of you did too? It was well attended and again laughter was bouncing off the walls. Thanks Maria!
UP AND COMING
Monthly Lunch
March's lunch is held annually at Le Meridien in conjunction with the AGM. Le Meridien do such a fabulous job making sure our palettes are teased and pleased. You will not regret coming out to the AGM – and then enjoying a rewarding lunch! So mark your calendars for next week March 15! Please confirm with Carole Dux.
Coffee Morning
Next Coffee morning will be at Sii's place in Land and House on 22nd March. Please, please, please confirm if you will be there, as it is not easy to come up with more goodies when suddenly ten women show up hungry in the morning without saying they would be there. I think you understand what I am really saying right? Email Sii at siieawsakul@gmail.com to confirm your attendance; the earlier the better.
MEMBERSHIP DUES REMINDER:
Annual membership dues, in the amount of 1200 THB, are paid for the period of April 1st through March 31st and are payable within 30 days of the Annual General Meeting (AGM.) We sincerely appreciate all our members and remind you that annual dues are used to support funding of the scholarship program. If your membership lapsed in 2011, you will be charged an additional 400 baht for a registration fee in addition to the annual dues of 1200 baht. No applicant may be considered as having acquired membership in PIWC until she has paid her registration and membership fee.
The AGM, set for March 15th at Le Meridien, is a perfect opportunity to renew your membership. If for some reason you cannot attend, you may renew by sending your dues with a friend who is attending or by transferring funds to the PIWC account.
